Mole removal methods
All mole removals are done after numbing the area with local anaesthetic.
Shave Removal
One of the methods for mole removal we use here at Victoria House Clinic is shave removal. A method whereby we use a surgical blade to shave down the mole to beneath the skin surface. Typically we would carry out this method for moles that are raised or protruding.
Curettage Removal
Another mole removal method used by Dr George here at Victoria House Clinic is curettage. This method uses a curette (spoon) to gently scoop out the mole from the skin.
Excision Removal
A common method of mole removal is surgical excision. This method is typically for larger moles and those with medical concerns around them. During the process the Dr will separate the mole from the surrounding skin using a scalpel, it could also be possible that a small portion of surrounding skin is removed as well if needed.
